Beautiful World was established in 2004 by Manoj Bharij,
a psychology graduate who volunteered in Ladakh for
seven months in 2003, working largely with the Ladakh
Nuns Association (LNA) - an NGO working to uplift the
status of Ladakhi nuns. Together with Dr. Tsering
Palmo, the founder of the LNA, Manoj set up Beautiful
World to focus solely on providing English teachers to
the monasteries of Ladakh.
Beautiful World is unique in that it doesn't require
sizeable donations in order for volunteers to work in
Ladakh as almost all other volunteer organisations do.
The only charge is a one-off administration charge of
£200 which covers the small running costs of the
organisation and goes towards placement monasteries
as donations.
Our aim is to ensure that you are fully briefed with
everything you need to know before you go. By
having a previous volunteer running the organisation
ensures that any questions or concerns can be adequately
answered.
