Leh, the sleepy capital of Ladakh, is dominated by the impressive nine-storey palace built in the 16th century.  It can be seen from all over Leh and acts as a useful bearing for those rare times when you get lost. Everything you need can be found along Leh's main bazaar.   View a map of Leh here.

» Foreign Exchange - State Bank of India (on the main bazaar) is the most convenient, commission-free method of changing money.  It opens from 10am-5pm Mon-Fri (lunch 1pm-2pm); 10am-1pm Sat.

» Post Office - opening times same as bank.  Located on main bazaar.

» Internet - Leh boasts dozens of net cafes but connections can be slow.  A reliable cafe is the Himalaya Cybercafe, close to the Himalaya Cafe.
