SHEY LAMDON MODEL SCHOOL

This school is in the village of Shey, approximately 15km from Leh. It is a private day and boarding school, teaching lay-children who come from both local areas and from afar. There are currently 150 children in total, 92 of whom live in the school hostel.

The school principal is Gen Lama Lobsang, a monk with a fair level of English. Accommodation will be with a local family by means of a homestay that will provide breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be provided at school.
