SPITUK MONASTERY

Also known as the Pegon Phagspa Nasten Bakula Institute, Spituk Monastery is perched on a hill over-looking the Indus River, approximately 8km from Leh. A new school is currently being built.

There are currently 29 students in the school ranging from 4 to 15 years.  English level is generally low with a few exceptions. Accomodation will be in a homestay with a local family and so this monastery can accept both male and female teachers. .
