It is important to remember that the conversational
English level of most students will be low, even though
they may be able to read well. All need as much
practise as possible to speak English and one of the
best ways of doing this is firstly through drills and
then through games. Playing English-learning games
is important for a number of reasons:
» they bring an element of fun to
the classroom
» children don't realise they're
actually learning as much as they are
» it increases motivation to
learn and study harder, especially if there is an
element of competitiveness involved!
