It is vital that you prepare as much as possible before
your placement. There is a wealth of information
on the internet (also see links
page) and various books available. Beautiful World
will also try to help with any queries you may have
regarding teaching by
email
or phone.
It may help to take various teaching aids with you as
in most cases all you will have is a blackboard.
For example:
» Flashcards - alphabet,
vocabulary, etc. It may be useful to make your own using
pictures cut out from magazines pasted onto card.
Organised into categories (eg. animals/fruit/clothes,
etc) this is an inexpensive way of making effective
teaching materials. »
Stickers - to be used as rewards, eg. for completing
homework
